Fitness model and influencer Tammy Hembrow shares how she got a following, and how others can get in shape while managing a hectic schedule.
What inspired you to become a fitness model and influencer?
I didn’t know this is what I would be doing, It was something that progressed over time. I started posting on Instagram in 2015 when I was pregnant with my first child (Wolf). I was 21 at the time and started to document my fitness and pregnancy journey.
From that point onward, my following increased daily and my love for health and fitness progressed into creating my own workout e-books. Fast forward to eight years later and I have a fitness app (Tammy Fit), my own athleisure brand (Saski), and three beautiful children.
What are the main things you want your followers (and our readers) to know if they’re looking to get in shape or improve their health overall?
Anything is better than nothing — do what you can and what feels good. Working out and eating healthy are important, but do what you’re comfortable with. Moving your body a little each day is better than not at all.
As someone who’s always on the go, how do you maintain a healthy lifestyle?
Finding the time! Whether it’s 10 minutes or 30 minutes, do what you can with what you have. Whether it’s walking, working out, yoga, or just taking the time to reflect and meditate — do things that make you feel good! Health isn’t just physical!
Why is it important to talk openly about women’s health issues?
It’s important to normalize this so we can learn from each other and feel less alone. There is strength in communication and community.
