Founder, Moms in The Making
First comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes… a baby?
It’s not always that easy. For 1 in 8 couples, a baby doesn’t come when or how they thought it would. That is because 1 in 8 couples struggles with infertility, the inability to conceive.
Infertility takes a toll on marriages, finances, and most definitely the human body. For most trying to conceive, infertility is met with doctor’s appointments, medical treatments, and unfortunately, for 1 in 4 women, a miscarriage.
Finding infertility support
And yet, in the middle of one of the most difficult seasons for women, there is still support and community to be found. Moms in the Making provides support to any woman trying to grow their family, whether it be support after baby loss or miscarriage, secondary infertility, foster care or adoption, medical treatments, or a more natural route.
With groups all across the United States as well as online and virtual support, Moms in the Making has helped women feel a lot less alone and a lot more encouraged. It’s created opportunities for women to connect and discuss not only the hardship of infertility but the hope that is found in the wait as well.
Infertility might not be your story, but with 13 percent of the population struggling, it’s likely you know someone who can relate. The greatest gift you have to offer any woman struggling is to help them feel less alone by telling them about Moms in the Making, a support group that has a seat for them at their table.
